This is such a nuanced and evocative image. I suspect that the realms of feeling that emerge when viewing it are influenced by age. For me, this casts me back to the 70s.

A powerful dichotomy presents--the almost androgenous and timeless face showing warmth or joy--and the shrouded appearance of the mask, hiding the place, purpose, and intent--hinting but leaving mood interpretation to the viewer's personal experience of life.
