Fossilated Landscape
Fujifilm X-T5; TAMRON 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD

This may be one of the most seen and touched fossils at Niagara Falls. It is part of a rock wall setting that borders the edge of the sea lion entry exhibit. At any point people are touching, leaning, sitting, climbing--somehow generally interacting with the large rock this is part of. Because of course, it is a vantage spot to watch the outdoor sea lions.

What the fossil is I have little idea. What struck me was its resemblance to an old satellite image of somewhere exotic...

What a great capture! A lure would be to crop down the section with the child, but the couple and their expressions walking by tell a story of things far deeper...

Well executed. Have to love the Fujis! And in general as a B&W enthusiast, your handling of tonality is spot on once again.

This shot is Sunset and Vine in Los Angelis taken from our old Mustang convertible. My wife was driving and I got to shoot with my Canon 5D MKIV and the Canon 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens. This is not an L lens, but this lens produces sharp clean images. This was shot during sunset golden hour. The color version is stunning but this converted nicely to monochrome. I really like this image, especially viewed large. I always like palm tree silhouette at sunset and sunrise. The image also uses the rule of thirds and perhaps even the golden spiral. And can you see the season reference. Happy Halloween. 👻
