Site Changes New Posting Group Suggestions

So I suppose "Foto Thunder Dome, two photographers enter......" is out. 😁 joking around here...
No it's not. That's a brilliant idea for a rename of the "A Photographic Mind" board, our version of a 'philosophy' board. Sadly, at this time we have no irascible trolls to populate it. Something to look forward to, right?

On second thought, that is not a terribly good idea either. But something needs to be done with that pompous title. Suggestions are welcome, because Bear 🐈 is outside for the afternoon and of no help.

Given responses, the final struggle is in play. Will it be Cafe Thursday, or Thursday Cafe?

I have to settle and stop now, as the word 'salon' is floating behind my left eye.

Because just posting into galleries is to random and not something I need. I keep taking photos and need somewhere and something to do with the few that have merit, wall space is limitted.

That brings me to another thing. Those "galleries" are an artifact within an artifact. Once upon a long ago, more primitive time, forum threads were not a happy place to try and show images. Certainly nothing like Lightbox flyouts. So the addon of the "gallery" was born. Time marches on, and things got better. Albums were added as a type of gallery, and people expected all of it.

We have category galleries. I am thinking of closing and archiving them. FotoFora is not Flickr or somesuch--a place to dump lots of images that no one will really ever talk about. Plenty of places for that. Rather, posting in threads and having small personal albums does more to foster member image, discussion, and engaged community than tossing random images into a photo can and waiting for someone to scrounge through it. Don't miss it if it becomes a mathom...

My little missives due being a slow typer and an even slower thinker take an age, is there a way to turn on spell Checker.

FotoFora's post editor does not do spell check--rather this is handled by your browser. Make sure that is turned on in your browser settings, and you did eat the cookies I sent didn't you? 🍪🥠🍪🥠

Oh, and while sweeping up the last of that brainstorm, I did a cleanup on Aisle 3 over in the forum. A new roster of board names, and a reordering to highlight and make sense of things. I wrote the old titles early on in building this community. It was very long hours, too much coffee, :coffee: and I got a bit constipated physically and mentally. Metaphorically, one can find lots of farts from that period floating about. Ahh, the wind,

And there it is, Cafe Thursday! OK! Now I know where to look. Stuff moving around like shopping at ACME. :ROFLMAO:

Speed and shrooms. 💉🍄 Hmmm. What's her number?

The prefix and tag system is under messy remodeling as well. The first salvo was the Help Board, and now Monochrome Meditations has a prefix. While some of these are fixed default, other boards--specifically the tech ones--will require a prefix to denote camera or question type. This way we can consolidate some of the brand-specific boards, and have questions or topics identified by their prefixes and tabs. You see that in the aforementioned examples now. Then applying tags can get quite specific. If you can't find it, you can't see or fawn over it. It's different, but that's what we want. 🐰

So I go off to break something, with the thought it will be better when it gets fixed... 🛠️🔥🔪🔫
