“Object to be destroyed” dialogue with Man Ray

I talked my way in to a warehouse of store display storage. I arranged the mannequins to reflect my personal feelings around my family situation. But I leave that out and leave it in the hands of a viewer....

I was living in Italy. At a dinner one night I was challenged to make a photo of a stationary object and suggest movement in some way. I looked around for an object and was drawn to this bicicletta.

This is normally posted as untitled street work without any suggestion of my deeply personal reason for setting it up as is. I like leaving it to the viewer's interpretation.
For me it is a representation of unrequited love. I had an experience that wanted to explore with photography. I had been rejected by someone that I had been interested in for a very long time.
I saw the bust and the painting in a second hand shop window late one night. I returned to the shop when it was opened and positioned the objects for a previsualized photo that i would take at night.
BTW we are now married.
