This was my attempt last year to capture the eclipse while in Arizona, we had camped in the Eastern side of the state, so not in totality, I was is the RV, I didn't have a good solar filter so I was wnging it with some ND filters and any other filter to get to about 16 stops. You can see the eclipse in one of the lens flares

I've not witnessed a solar eclipse but this looks like a good result with the HD gear you used.
