I've a chance to pick up one at a reasonable price here, and I'm tempted. But the lack of viewfinder and consequent must-use of the LCD seems very awkward, and likely impossible to get used to after decades of using the available viewfinder.
Does anyone have a 'view' on this?

My "view" is that if the price is right and you believe that it could be useful to you (or fun to use), then why not give it a try. It was introduced 13 years ago and is a small sensor compact camera, so I would not think the price would be excessive. Screen will likely be difficult to view in very bright light.

My first FotoFora post!

Thanks Ken & welcome to another photonet orphan! I'm quite bitter about photonet's evaporation and not certain I'd return if it reappears. A disgusting and sloppy treatment of a long term site and its members.
I'll 'handle' the Leica for feel but hard to imagine the lcd reflections coupled with my age not being hard to get used to, still would enjoy that zoom lens though.
